7/7 baseball: Whitehall 8, Arcadia 5(2009/07/10) Whitehall combated Arcadia’s 5-2 lead with a five-hit, two-walk third inning that gave the Norsemen a 7-5 advantage. Travis Berg powered a home run in the first inning for Whitehall’s first two runs.
6/25 baseball: Arcadia 14, Lincoln 4 (5)(2009/07/02) Andy Meinertz and Craig Thomas both drove in two runs in the Raiders’ six-run second inning. Meinertz had a two-run single, and Thomas belted a two-run double. Arcadia’s Kyle Tamke had an RBI single in the second.
6/23 baseball: Arcadia 9, Blair-Taylor 6(2009/06/25) Brock Haines led the Raiders by going 3-for-5 and driving in two runs. Haines had RBI singles in both the second and fifth innings. Arcadia’s Andy Meinerz earned the victory and also had two hits.
6/8 WIAA state boys golf: Sobotta, Arcadia tied for 6th(2009/06/09) VERONA, Wis. — The Arcadia High School boys golf team is tied for sixth in Division 3 after the first day of the WIAA State Boys Golf Championship at University Ridge Golf Course.
6/1 boys golf: Sobotta carries Arcadia back to state(2009/06/05) NEW GLARUS, Wis. — The Arcadia High School boys golf team qualified for its first WIAA state meet in 10 years by winning the Division 3 New Glarus sectional at Edelweiss Chalet Country Club on Monday.
5/27 track and field: Panthers’ regional title on hold(2009/05/28) BLACK RIVER FALLS — Perennial Division 2 state track and field power West Salem appears poised for another title run. At the very least, the Panther girls will likely make plenty of noise at the WIAA state track and field meet on June 5-6.
5/26 softball: Arcadia 15, Spring Valley/Plum City 1 (5)(2009/05/27) Treca Suchla hit a two-run home run in Arcadia’s 10-run first inning to power the Raiders, who will face Prescott at 5 p.m. Thursday in a Division 3 regional semifinal game. Kelly Pronschinske and Becca Filla each drove in three runs for Arcaida.
5/26 boys golf: Arcadia regional(2009/05/27) Team champion: Osseo-Fairchild 305 Onalaska Luther’s Mitchell Cook took medalist honors with an even-par 70 as the Knights placed fourth to qualify for the New Glarus sectional. Arcadia also qualified for the sectional by finishing second as a team, one shot behind Osseo-Fairchild.
5/14 softball: ONALASKA LUTHER 6, ARCADIA 1(2009/05/16) Luther’s Courtney Hoeg struck out 10 and walked two on her way to keeping the Knights undefeated in the Coulee Conference. Erin Spoo drove in a pair of runs with a double in the second inning, while Hoeg went 2-for-3 with a double.
5/12 boys golf: Coulee Conference Meet(2009/05/14) Team champion: Black River Falls 152 Black River Falls’ Tyler Millis and Viroqua’s Joe Poshepny tied for medalist honors at Fox Hollow Golf Course with par rounds of 35. The Tigers edged second-place Arcadia by three strokes with the help of 37s from Matt Gates and Jordan Tranberg.
5/12 softball: Holmen 4, Arcadia 2 (8)(2009/05/14) Senior catcher Anna Medinger’s two-out single in the top of the eighth inning drove in Allison Dienger and put Holmen ahead to stay at 3-2. Talia Smith added an RBI double in the eighth for the Vikings.
5/9 softball: Arcadia 4, Chippewa Falls McDonell 1 (2009/05/11) The Raiders went 2-0 at the Pepin Tournament. Arcadia senior Brooke Finner had a two-run double against Chippewa Falls McDonell. She also had the game-winning RBI against River Falls.
